Mr. Schweppe received his diploma degree in Geology from the University Cologne. In his diploma thesis, he worked on a ground-motion attenuation model for weak earthquakes for the Lower Rhine Embayment.
In his Ph.D. thesis, he developed discrete element models to investigate the dynamic behavior of ancient man-made structures during ground motion to gain information about the vibration history of specific archaeological sites.
